  33. Creative Equipment International is pleased to announce that it will
  34. distribute the new line of Amiga computers through CEI dealers in North and
  35. South America. The first machines are already being built by Amiga
  36. Technologies in the United States and should be available in last part of
  37. Q3.

  39. Alex Amor President of CEI states, "We are excited to be able to
  40. re-introduce the Amiga back into the Americas. This agreement opens the
  41. door for joint future projects under discussions. We are and have always
  42. been committed to the Amiga."

  44. Ed Goff, Amiga Technologies North American representative states, "We are
  45. extremely pleased that CEI will be distributing the Amiga into North and
  46. South America. They will be bringing a strong dealer network and countless
  47. years of Amiga experience."

  49. The new Amiga 4000T is being positioned as a high end video workstation.
  50. The base model will have a Motorola 68040 processor operating at 25Mhz. The
  51. new 4000T will be packaged in a sleek tower unit. Exact pricing and
  52. specifications will be announced shortly.

  58. Good news as promised! The Amiga 4000T will be the first machine to be
  59. available. New models will follow shortly thereafter. In North America,
  60. Amiga Technologies GmbH is concentrating on the high end desktop video
  61. market first. CEI is assisting Amiga Technologies in various aspects of
  62. creative marketing and product development.

  64. The Amiga 4000T will be a tower based model with the Motorola 68040
  65. processor operating at 25Mhz. Initial configurations are expected to be 6MB
  66. of Ram and 540MB hard disk. Introductory pricing is set for a street price
  67. of $3499.00. CEI will be offering different configurations including
  68. complete Flyer workstations ready to plug and play.

  70. We realize that the price of the Amiga 4000T is slightly higher than we all
  71. would have wished. At the same token there is pent up market demand and the
  72. A4000T/Flyer combo is still unbeatable.

  74. We are quite excited about Amiga's long term prospects. During the coming
  75. months, you will see a number of announcements that will regain our
  76. dominance in the multimedia markets.

  81. Gee, $3,500 for a 25mhz 040....that's a deal!  I hope Escom has some 
  82. serious plans for pricing this machine appropriately...it would probably 
  83. still be overpriced at $1,500 considering what you can buy from IBM or 
  84. Apple these days.

  86. Oh well, it'll be good to see Amiga parts available again...and I guess 
  87. Escom has to start somewhere.
